The research group in Probability focus on the study of Quantum Markov Semigroups properties, such as transience/recurrence, asymptotic behaviour, existence of invariant states and decoherence. In particular, for Gaussian Markovian Semigroups, we set ourselves the following goals:
- identify maximally abelian invariant algebras and analyze the classical semigroups associated with them (generators, invariant laws...),
- determine the transient and recurrent part of the semigroup
- determine the spectral gap.
Another research topic concerns the mathematical theory of statistical learning in the framework of Machine Learning. Within the MaLGa center the statistical properties of supervised learning algorithms are studied using high-dimensional non-parametric statistics and functional analysis techniques.
