Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa)

MaLGa (Machine Learning Genoa Center) is a joint research center with 7 faculty members of DIMA, 6 members of DIBRIS, 1 member of DICCA and around 40 PhD students and postdocs.

The main research theme is Machine Learning, from its theoretical foundations to applications to computer vision, data-science, physics, medicine and biology. MaLGa is supported by many sources, including 3 ERC grants. Within the department of Mathematics, the research mainly focuses on the theoretical aspects of Machine Learning, including applied harmonic analysis (see also Harmonic Analysis), inverse problems, optimization (see also Optimization for data science), optimal transport and PDE (see also Functional Analysis, calculus of variations and PDE) and statistical learning theory (see also Probability).
